Layers 03:40
You peel away Layers upon Layers And breach the outer wall Leave it all behind You're never the same It's inevitable Whatever remains Is vulnerable To the shadow Thats left over Break it all apart Layers upon layers Is she your counterpart Or will this break the line? Or break the line You're never the same Its inevitable Whatever remains Is vulnerable Whatever remains Is vulnerable To the shadow And rise and fall Still searching for Whats left over
2.
Suns rays You wake up glad It only last for days Too late In mid July I travelled on why stay? West end road West end road Desert haze You look ahead And find it all amazing The state line It brings me back To thunder, wind and rain In those later years We only wanted everything But now we sit and wait for it As seasons change Theres nowhere we won't go West End Road West End Road West End Road
3.
When will the range Retain the rain And whats underlain And the floating waves The floating waves Transpiration brings you Closer to the sun And after passageways Return to where your from And believe in more Theres evidence Of a past event Common Descent Evaporate Evaporate No room to grow For the roots below And the undertow And the floating waves The floating waves Transpiration brings you Closer to the sun And after passageways Return to where your from And believe in more Transpiration brings you Closer to the sun And after passageways Return to where your from And believe in more

Fissure Peak 03:42
Looking far way The distance is misleading Nothing was good enough Tractor trailer The highway is on fire Nothing was good enough Breaking our backs too much We wanted all this land To rightly call our own Take all your back room plans And leave us alone Now the sun shines Behind the table mesa Everyones on the run Keep on fighting The bullets and the bombs Nothing was good enough Breaking our backs too much We wanted all this land To rightly call our own Take all your back room plans And leave us alone We won't be pushed aside this time We'll scatter across the plains Before they fade into the sky
5.
I lived inside Down on the line Too far From day or night as we roam In hazy skies All of the time The country highway rolls on behind In four days the ice rolled in and we froze too late and blue skies grey too snow in hazy skies all of the time the country highway rolls on behind
6.
You don't like the way home But head out anyway I hear the winter waves The barometer displays Outracing this downpour To the great indoors Destined to separate Keep this on our minds I hear the winter waves The barometer displays Outracing this downpour To the great indoors Its finally come ashore To the great indoors Great indoors
7.
In The Lake 04:59
In the lake I left you alone But won't be gone for long Its Sunday As sure eyes can see The rain is coming back to us Will I make it Until the morning sun As the rivers flow Drifting slightly towards the end Our love has just outgrown We remain Its frozen once again And captures all things Thought and said But near the lake The red fields turn to gray And will not be the same again Will I make it Until the morning sun AS the rivers flow Drifting slightly towards the end Our love has just outgrown
8.
Sinking Ship 02:45
The last night Im thinking like a sinking ship And land lines They never seem to Come to quick And leave when the sun comes up In the fall Separate Take a chance And live with it And highways remember how they came and went And leave when the sun goes down And lose what you once had found The engines full of rust Its taken on too much And won't be standing long today She's breaking up
9.
Reaches from the ground As the steel end beams Are tethered down Emissions come and go As the bridge they built Over town Are we lost And can't be found Rises from the place Where the sand and the stone Have turned to ground Whether day or night As the highway grieves in sound Are we lost And can't be found Can we open up And find ourselves Hiding from the sun When the mountains edge Comes to us We're nearly overcome Its just around the bend Its just around the bend The bridge they built over town Eventually comes down
10.
You don't know it But your on the ground To the larger world Without a sound Close your eyes now Shut it down Theres place for us Close your eyes now It'll all be gone Its underway Tell me what you see When the colors fade oscillating words and beta waves Close your eyes now Shut it down There's a place for us Close your eyes now It'll all be gone Its underway now REM REM I will wake when you up Only if the walls are falling down As you drift beyond Cant escape the sound And dream yourself To sleep

about

This album began because I realized how many more ideas I wanted to record after HillTop was released in January 2020 and how much I truly was inspired to work with Jason Wheeler. I wanted to continue to work and put together these songs that were going through my head and fuel the creative energy that had been established.

Like everyone, things changed last March right when Great Indoors began and we took a break from tracking and overall recording until May or so of 2020 We were able to work hard over the next several months and get all tracking done. It was a true inspiration to have this album as the pandemic hit, as my life went indoors working at home and being grateful to have an outlet like The Wheehouse Studio and have a creation like Great Indoors to develop, produce and share.

Thanks to my family and friends for their continued support and love throughout my life and I appreciate and love you all truly. My father William (BIG CAHUNA) Cahoone passed on January 7, 2021 and I will be forever grateful to be his son and will miss him with all my heart. I dedicate this to you dad. Love you.

about

Nathan Cahoone Denver, Colorado

I grew up in Littleton, Colorado and developed a love of music at an early age, especially through my mom Judy's eclectic mix of records and musical tastes. Both of my sisters (Sera and Kal) are great musicians and helped instill for me the love of music.

This is dedicated to my family and love them much.
